About Us

Rural Dance Schools WA began in 2011.

Lani McGeady's dream to bring dance, and as many related opportunities, to country children throughout the the Wheatbelt, has seen over 33 end of year recitals performed over the last 8 years . This vision has  seen RDSWA take classes in Dowerin and Bencubbin, with current branches in Beverley, Merredin, Kellerberrin, Quairading, York, Bruce Rock, Corrigin, Cunderdin and in 2019 Wongan Hills will join the fun!. All end of year performances include every child receiving a participation trophy and certificate. Extra awards are also given out including full scholarships, partial scholarships, Rising Star Awards, Achievement Awards and Encouragement Awards.

Some lucky past Scholarship winners ( from Quairading, Beverley and Kellerberrin ) have been accepted into the Australian Ballet Interstate Training Program, have taken part in workshops and competitions in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and New Zealand and have won many awards including classes at Broadway Dance Center in New York. Students from these centres have won over 10 Margaret Illmann Awards for Excellence and many WA State Medals between them, travelled to National finals on the Gold Coast and participated in productions of WA Ballet Co and also the Australian Ballet in Perth. I am always looking for more children and families who wish to take part in dance adventures we can offer talented and dedicated students.

Our acrobatics program is used in all schools and provides fun and fitness for kids of all shapes and sizes. Our jazz and hip hop classes give the children an outlet for all that energy, having fun with their friends and making new ones.

We are here is to instil the love of dance in your children, providing a happy and safe environment to express themselves and explore their own personalities and emotions. The discipline of classical ballet and dance allows children to feel safe with clear boundaries. Balanced gross motor skills in exercises encourages them to feel confident and accomplished as well as feeling the beauty and magic of movement and music.

We pride ourselves on being a close dance family of parents and children. Always looking for more students who love to dance to be part of the fun! The adults fun and fitness class means Mum can be involved as well!
